How to lose 5 Stone
and Keep it Off!
This is the world's worst kept secret. Everyone trying to lose weight knows this, but many
people choose to ignore it. So let's remind ourselves; Exercise will burn up the excess
pounds. I lost 5 stone through exercise and have kept it off for over 30 years.
When I was 22 years old I had ballooned up to 15 and a half stone (I am 5' 10" tall, so I
was medically obese). I was not happy with my body image, so I decided to do something about it. I tried a
crash diet called the 'F Plan'
and started to jog around a field near my home. I thought I was too big to be seen running on the streets!
I lost a stone very quickly, but gave up the F Plan
diet - it was too restrictive and was taking the pleasure away from food. I kept running however
and the pounds continued to drop off. My only diet was trying to avoid junk food; otherwise I ate what I
wanted. Then I found Rosemary
Conley's Hip and Thigh Diet which was basically a low fat diet with exercise. This was perfect
for me.
After years of a low fat diet I now have an aversion and dislike of fatty foods. I can't
stomach chips, pastry, pizza or fast food generally. I can and do however eat and drink as much as I
like. I have grown to like running, it gets me out in the countryside and being fit makes me feel good.
The bonus is that daily exercise will raise your metabolic rate. I burn up more calories than
most people when I am watching the TV or even sleeping! So you can eat and drink as much as you like, as long
as you exercise every day......It's got to be worth considering!
