Fitness is Your Secret Super Power
Today I enjoyed the advantage of having a secret super-power. Let me explain.
I have been a long distance runner for over 20 years now and have completed 17 marathons. This
involves a lot of regular training. I average 5o miles per week , and when training for marathons this goes up to
100 miles ( I like nice round numbers!). Now this is of no interest to anyone but myself, and perhaps other members
of my local running club, Spa Striders. However today I was able to use my fitness to help in my every day
life.
I have been having trouble with my car, the battery draining flat twice. I booked the car
into a garage in Coventry and had to leave it with them all day. Coventry is 12 miles away so my brother offered to
give me a lift back home, but I declined his offer.
This was my chance to use my secret super-power! - 12 miles, no problem, I ran home. I
returned via a nice country route, and really enjoyed the run.
